Sam McAughtry

Sam McAughtry was born in Belfast in 1923. During the Second World War he was an officer navigator with the RAF; he is a trade union activist and a well-known journalist, scriptwriter and presenter on radio and TV.

The Sinking of the Kenbane Head, first published in 1977 and re-issued here, is his first book and has been followed by numerous novels and short story collections.

His bestselling memoir, On the Outside Looking In, was published by Blackstaff Press in 2003.
